Eastern Shore Rotary Clubs Help the Foodbank

The three Rotary Clubs of the Eastern Shore teamed up for their second joint district grant over the past two years. This time, the Onancock, Exmore and Cape Charles Rotary Clubs joined forces to help with the renovation of the Foodbank of South Eastern Virginia’s Eastern Shore location in Tasley.

Through the district grant process of Rotary, the three clubs acquired funding to purchase tables and conveyors to help with the Foodbank’s backpack program, which packs 435 backpacks for at risk children on the Eastern Shore every two weeks. Additionally, funds from the grant were utilized for the purchase of equipment for the newly renovated reception area. Each district grant requires sweat equity from the participating clubs.

Twenty members from the three clubs gathered together following their workday, on Thursday, January 12th, to assemble the tables and conveyors provided by the grant. District grant funds are provided by the Rotary Foundation, which all Rotarians are asked to personally donate to each year.

Mapp, Mapp, & Klien is a proud member of the Onancock Rotary on the Eastern Shore.
